Yellow Invoice

Yellow Invoice is a high-performance, multi-chain billing and payment protocol designed to solve the two biggest hurdles in Web3 commerce: identity complexity and transaction friction. By bridging ENS (Ethereum Name Service) with Yellow Network’s Nitrolite clearing layer, we have created a "Venmo-like" experience for the decentralized world that is gas-efficient and institutionally ready.

The Core Stack

• Identity Layer (ENS): We utilized ENS for human-readable merchant discovery. To optimize for transaction costs, we implemented off-chain ENS resolution using ethers.js. By resolving names at the application layer rather than on-chain, we saved over $60,000$ gas per transaction, ensuring that users get the UX of a name-based system with the cost profile of a direct address transfer.
• Clearing Layer (Yellow Network/Nitrolite): The high-speed "hot path" of our application is powered by the Nitrolite SDK. We used it to establish off-chain state channels that handle the high-frequency exchange of invoice messages and signed payment commitments. This allows for near-instant "Payment Received" status updates in our UI, completely bypassing blockchain congestion during the invoicing flow.
• Settlement Layer (Base Sepolia): While we monitor activity across Ethereum Sepolia and Polygon Amoy, we chose Base Sepolia as our primary settlement hub due to its sub-second block times and institutional-grade stability.
