Project Description

You probably came for the swarm management platform but by now you've already seen dozens or more orchestration projects. I'm sure they're all pretty cool. SocNet, an XMBL project, is proud to launch Handoff to the world an hopes it helps people manage their agents easier. However, that's not at all the point of this submission. The point of this submission is to introduce you to a system that we think will solve the agentic attribution crises, which will soon upend the basic assumptions that underpins every modern orderly legal system -- "To whom do we impute this responsibility"

We can't hold an agent accountable the way a human is kept in check because an agent has no sense of shame or fear of punishment. Therefore, it's stupid af to approach the problem using the means we used for humans. This calls for a novel solution and you're hearing it hear first.

The Impute Protocol has a story behind it that harkens back to EthGlobal Prague in 2025 when XMBL built it's quantum resistant signature system based on MAYO, a NIST PQR finalist - https://ethglobal.com/showcase/who-do-u-think-ur-kx5an. This was a great achievement bc MAYO creates very small signatures, perfect for inclusion in the XMBL blockchain.

However, it was later discovered that MAYO was susceptible to a side-channel attack that reveals it's key when signing on a shared system, such as a cloud computer. Oh, our stars and garters! What a let down! Back to the drawing board? Well, not quite. Being smart people, we quickly recognized that it's a feature, not a flaw. MAYO is fine from a hardware wallet sig. So ok, we need another PQR key (Kyber Crystals), which isn't known to leak keys. On top of this, we devised that giving agents these keys with Zero Standing Privileges (keys live for seconds and then become useless) in a distributed network of TEEs is the way to go. This gives us the ability to contain the blast radius when an agent behaves unsavory and the strongest security claims we know of today. We created Sybil protection capable of handing trillions of agents. We just destroyed Worldcoin's entire reason to exist and we didn't need to spend millions build mini deathstars trying to alderaan your eyes. We know a bot is trying to act like a human if we can detect their key. Simple. If it's signed by MAYO, it didn't happen on the hotline, it was authorized on a cold wallet.

Anyhow, you don't care. You're wild, rekless, careless, and just want to see some cool things with agents since they finally provide the crypto industry with the problem it's needed so whatever, enjoy our todo list app called Handoff.
