WorldVote is a decentralized, human-centric polling application designed to enable secure, verifiable, and tamper-resistant voting within communities, DAOs, social groups, or events. Built as a Mini App using the Worldcoin MiniKit SDK, it leverages World ID for sybil-resistant identity verification, ensuring that each vote comes from a unique, real human user without compromising privacy. The app is deployed to integrate seamlessly with the World App ecosystem, which boasts over 23 million users, allowing instant access and scalability. For on-chain transparency, it optionally deploys smart contracts on World Chain—a blockchain optimized for human-focused applications with free transactions and high throughput. The core problem WorldVote addresses is the lack of trust in online polling systems. Traditional polls are vulnerable to bots, multiple accounts (sybil attacks), and manipulation, leading to skewed results. By integrating World ID's zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), WorldVote verifies that voters are unique humans (e.g., via an Orb scan or app-based proof) while keeping personal data anonymous. This makes it ideal for real-world use cases like community decision-making, event feedback, DAO governance, or even casual opinion surveys at hackathons like ETHGlobal.

We built WorldVote during the ETHGlobal New Delhi 2025 hackathon (September 26–28, 2025) as a rapid prototype in under 48 hours, focusing on creating a functional MVP that leverages Worldcoin's ecosystem for human-centric, sybil-resistant polling. Our team consisted of a frontend developer, backend engineer, and smart contract specialist, collaborating via Git for version control. We started with ideation at the Builder Breakfast on Day 1, iterated through wireframes and core features on Day 2, and polished the demo with testing on Day 3. The goal was to make a seamless Mini App that could deploy instantly to World App's 23M+ users, emphasizing privacy, scalability, and real-world utility.
