WallE: Social DeFi

This project, WallE, is a Social DeFi Platform that combines professional-grade cryptocurrency analytics with engaging social features. The core idea is to give users a "Bloomberg Terminal for DeFi" that is both powerful and entertaining.

WallE allows anyone to analyze Ethereum wallets to gain deep insights into portfolio performance, risk exposure, and trading behavior. The platform provides AI-powered recommendations for portfolio health, risk management, and performance optimization. It also introduces a unique social layer, where users can compete on leaderboards, compare their results with peers, and even get “roasted” by AI for fun and entertainment.

The system processes user wallet addresses either via direct wallet connection or manual entry. It fetches live transaction history, portfolio data, comprehensive risks from the 1inch API, and augments the results with LLM-powered AI insights. To ensure scalability and responsiveness, WallE implements caching and persistent storage with MongoDB. The result is a real-time, data-rich dashboard that blends financial analytics with social competition and humor—making DeFi analysis both insightful and enjoyable.

WallE is built using a Next.js 15 frontend paired with React for a modern, performant, and responsive user interface. We styled the platform with Tailwind CSS and brought smooth transitions to life with Framer Motion. For wallet connectivity, we used RainbowKit + Wagmi, which allowed seamless multi-chain Web3 support.

On the backend, WallE uses Next.js API routes to handle wallet analysis requests. Each analysis request first checks a MongoDB database (via Mongoose) for cached results. If fresh data isn’t available, WallE fetches the wallet’s portfolio, transaction history and portfolio performance using the 1inch API. This data is processed to calculate P&L, detect scam/risky transactions, and score overall portfolio risk by using the reliability parameter from the 1inch API result.

To enrich the experience, we integrated Groq’s fast LLM inference with Llama-4-Maverick-17B, which generates professional insights, risk management recommendations, and entertaining wallet “roasts.” This AI layer adds both educational and humorous value for users.

A few hacky but notable things we implemented:

A 5-minute caching strategy to prevent API rate limits and speed up repeated analysis.

It detects scam or risky transactions, and score overall portfolio risk based on data retrieved from the 1inch API

A leaderboard system built on top of MongoDB queries that dynamically ranks users by performance, P&L, or risk level.

By combining real-time blockchain analytics, AI-driven insights, and social gamification, WallE turns portfolio management into a fun, competitive, and highly engaging DeFi experience.
