Project Description

  • Every day, millions of people receive unsolicited DMs on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Telegram, making it nearly impossible to know whether the person reaching out is genuine or a scammer (an issue even Vitalik highlighted during his keynote).
  • TrustBuddy tackles this problem by offering a decentralized reputation system across Telegram/Twitter/LinkedIn where users can verify their social handles, leave honest reviews, and check others’ trustworthiness before ever responding to a message.
  • By combining on-chain reviews, zero-knowledge social proofs, and secure randomness for reward gamification, TrustBuddy empowers users to spot scammers, reward genuine interactions, and build a safer, more transparent online community across the platforms where trust matters most.

How it's Made

  • Built using Scaffold-ETH 2 for rapid dApp prototyping with a Next.js React frontend and Solidity smart contracts.
  • Core smart contract deployed on the Flare Coston2 testnet, taking advantage of Flare’s secure on-chain RNG to gamify TBT (Trust Buddy Token) rewards for reviews.
  • Integrated vlayer’s zk Web Proofs to cryptographically verify users’ Twitter handles, ensuring that only authentic social identities can be reviewed.
  • Each review submission triggers a Blockscout link for full transparency, allowing users to instantly verify on-chain transactions; the contract is verified and publicly accessible on Blockscout.
  • Implemented a dynamic reward mechanism where the amount of TBT earned per review is determined randomly via Flare’s RNG, adding an engaging and fair gamification layer.
