You want to learn something new, but where do you begin? TreasureChest. The good internet in one place. Resources, long-form content, and opportunities in one spot. Curated by experts, and made for you — a future expert. Unlock content with an NFT.
Trying to learn something new on the internet is difficult. It involves shifting through clickbait articles, articles that don't have enough detail, low-quality videos, and an endless black whole of reddit comments.
What if when you wanted to learn something new there was a place where THE GOOD INTERNET was brought to your fingertips? You can get all the high-quality videos, best articles, and exclusive content you can't find through a Google search all in one place.
That is TreasureChest. TreasureChest uses Unlock to create membership-based NFTs. When you go to the TreasureChest website, there is a library of different skills you can learn. Each library needs an NFT to unlock the content.
After you purchase the NFT (for now it is free), you are able to sign with it to unlock the content (using Unlock Protocol).
Experts and insiders curate all content. The Art Direction example provides step-by-step instructions on how to build a portfolio and become an Art Director. Becoming an Art Director has a high barrier to entry, and it's difficult to know where to begin. There is exclusive content that one can't find casually surfing the web on how to be an art director. This includes unpublished blog posts from professionals, private strategy decks from inside the industry, Google Docs of mentor contacts, and a crowdsourced Google sheet of salaries.
What is great about the way the smart contract is set-up is that it can be time-bound and also have the ability of lending. Catalogues of information that feel outdated can expire, and new NFTs would have to be purchased with additional material.
Once TreasureChest matures, a Public Library can use TreasureChest NFTs and allow their customers to "borrow" NFTs to unlock the content on TreasureChest.
Knowing where to start is one of the hardest barriers to learning. TreasureChest lowers that barrier -- making learning more approachable and accessible than ever.

This project uses a lock from Unlock Protocol to create, deploy, and own keys. From this dashboard, Starting Block can manage members and accept payments. It will also be easy to expire content or subscriptions from Unlock. The NFT was minted on the Polygon chain for low cost/speedy transactions. It can then be viewed on OpenSea. WordPress was used to create the site with the content. An Unlock Plugin was used to gate the content. All artwork was created with MidJourney!
