Project Description

About 27% of travellers face confiscation of their medication or problems in proving the validity of their prescription. Chronic illnesses that can’t be paused and affect 1 out of 5 travelers. What in mild cases is just an annoyance, for chronic patients it can mean serious health risks by the interruption of their treatment. Solution TravelScript creates a Prescription consensus protocol that allows a prescription, issued by a doctor in Country A, to be legally recognized and dispensed by a pharmacist in Country B. The system eliminates the risk of processing interruption and confiscation by providing an immutable cryptographic proof of 2 key elements:

  1. Private Authorization (Web2-to-Web3): The sender is a doctor whose Web2 credentials have been verified.
  2. Consensus: The transaction is endorsed by two health professionals (the issuer and the local auditor). 💡 Justification The feasibility of the project is based on eliminating the need for bureaucratic arrangements and slow central authorities, replacing them with a fast and verifiable digital consensus: -Validity of Origin: We use advanced cryptography to allow the issuing physician to prove their professional certification privately, without disclosing their identity or license. -Global Consensus: The prescription requires a double digital signature: that of the issuing physician and that of a local medical auditor (receiver), who gives his approval after an automatic regulatory validation. TravelScript turns the validity of a prescription into a cryptographic truth, making health truly global and safe for the chronic patient.

How it's Made

Our project combines three cutting-edge technologies to solve cross-border medical prescription validation: We implemented Semaphore to create verified groups of doctors by country/region. When a doctor prescribes, they generate a ZK proof signature that proves their membership in the group WITHOUT revealing their specific identity. Leveraging Flare Data Connector (FDC) for the validation of both doctors' signatures, while also storing the prescription issuance information. We deployed TravelScript on EVVM to achieve a completely gasless experience for doctors and patients, providing user experience abstraction. Pharmacies register as fishers in EVVM by staking and receive automatic rewards for validating and dispensing cross-border prescriptions without patients or doctors paying gas fees.
