Project Description

ThesisHub is a decentralized marketplace where researchers can upload their academic papers and get paid when users access them. Built on Filecoin Lighthouse, it offers permanent, secure, and cost-effective storage on a blockchain-based decentralized network. Users pay a one-time fee to access papers, ensuring fair compensation to authors and open access to quality research. ThesisHub leverages IPFS for data distribution and EVM-compatible smart contracts for seamless payments, creating a transparent, censorship-resistant academic publishing platform.

How it's Made

ThesisHub is built on Filecoin Lighthouse, which enables permanent file storage with a pay-once model, powered by Filecoin’s decentralized storage network and IPFS. The backend incorporates smart contracts deployed on EVM-compatible chains like Polygon, enabling fast and affordable transactions for buying and selling papers. The frontend uses ReactJS for a modern user experience, while NodeJS APIs manage interactions with the Filecoin network. The Lighthouse protocol’s endowment pool automates perpetual storage payments, ensuring papers are stored permanently without recurring fees. This architecture delivers a secure, scalable, and trustless platform for research sharing and monetization.
