Project Description

This project allows the free flow of information in a controlled, private and decentralised manner. At the moment it takes an age for proposers to get peer reviewed, sometimes months or maybe years. We make this process the shortest by implementing it over a blockchain.

Users can join this DAO as a dao member or as an editor by staking a stake fee. Any user can create proposals for getting their papers reviewed by uploading their papers to ipfs and paying a minimal proposal fee. Editors can then approve or disapprove these proposals to be put out in dao and get reviewed. Dao members can read these proposals and vote on them. For every proposal these editors approve or dao members put their vote, they get a portion of the proposal fee added to their return stake. If any dao member or an editor is found cheating then other members can pass a penalty against him which if voted then his stake would be deducted by 10%. Anytime these dao members or editors can leave the dao and their stake would be returned. Every voted paper gets stored in the contract. Non-dao members can get access to these papers by paying a one time fee.

Users can opt in for notifications if they want to recieve notifications via push for every proposal created. Huddle01 is also used to enable dao members to have conferenced among them.

The whole process makes it easier to peer review and create a fine collection of premium papers. In the future we aim to make this a platform for peer reviewing all kinds of papers with a collection of different sorts of dao's containing specialists from different fields which can review a variety of papers and make a fine collection of research.

How it's Made

This project uses next.js framework with ethers.js for contract interaction. With connectKit being used behind the scenes, users can easily connect their wallets and switch networks. For every proposal made in the dao, those members who have opted in will receive notifications on push protocol. They can chat with admin as well through push chatbox. Lighthouse is used to upload papers to ipfs and store them on filecoin. Huddle01 adds a feature where dao members can schedule and have conferences from the website itself. Hardhat is used for contract development and Sass for styling.

We were able to implement a peer review process on blockchain with the most simplest UI.
