Tesoro is the paypal for cash and delivery. A checkout button merchants can integrate into their web applications to offer cash on delivery with the shipping cost as collateral.
Project Description
Cash on delivery is a very popular payment method for online shopping in the developing world, however, it is very costly for merchants because of the high rate of returned orders. If an order is not completed successfully, then merchants need to absorb the shipping cost.
Tesoro is a payment method merchants can integrate into their web applications to offer cash on delivery with the shipping cost as collateral. If a customer makes a COD order and its not successful, then the merchant gets the shipping cost.
How it's Made
I used React JS framework to build the front-end and sketch app to design the customer's app and checkout flow. Unfortunately, I did not have time to complete the development of the application. However, for staking the shipping cost I plan to build a smart contract with Scroll and web3auth to onboard new customers to the application.
