Project Description
Tap Ether is a simple app that lets you send crypto assets to someone by simply just tapping your phones together. It's built with React Native and uses NFC technology, which allows devices to communicate when they're close to each other.
To use Tap Ether, the person receiving the crypto asset need to enter their wallet address or connect their wallet. The sender then brings their phone close to the receiver’s phone to connect their wallet. The receiver specifies the amount, then requests a signature and waits for the transaction to be signed. This process makes it super quick and safe to transfer cryptocurrency with just a phone tap using NFC.
How it's Made
This project is built using React Native and Expo, and it leverages several advanced features including the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), WalletConnect, and the 1Inch balance API.
One of the trickiest parts has been getting WalletConnect to work at the same time with two different libraries—AppKit and EthereumProvider. This setup helps us handle two sessions at once, meeting the specific needs of both the receiver and the payer during transactions.
