Project Description

Synapse is the financial layer for the autonomous agent economy, designed to solve the "economic paralysis" of current AI systems. While AI agents "think" in milliseconds, traditional blockchains settle in seconds, creating a critical latency mismatch. Synapse bridges this gap by leveraging Yellow Network's State Channels to create a high-speed payment "socket" between agents.

Our platform enables a true Machine-to-Machine (M2M) economy where resources like compute, data, or inference are traded instantly. The showcase implementation is a "Pay-As-You-Go" AI chat where users stream stablecoin micro-payments for every single token generated by the LLM. This eliminates subscription fatigue and gas fees, unlocking a new business model where services are purchased per-millisecond or per-unit in real-time.

How it's Made

Synapse is architected as a high-performance gateway between on-chain custody and off-chain settlement. The core backbone is built in Rust using Actix-web, ensuring the low-latency processing required for high-frequency trading of compute resources.

We integrate Yellow Network's Nitrolite SDK to handle state channels. When a user connects to the React/Vite frontend, they open a single on-chain channel on Polygon Amoy. From that moment on, every interaction is "gasless."

For the demo, we utilize Ollama running a local LLM. As the model streams text generation, the frontend signs cryptographic micro-transaction packets for each token. These packets are instantly verified by the Rust backend before releasing the next chunk of data. This "streaming payment" model is achieved without stalling for block confirmations, proving that blockchain payments can finally move at the speed of AI.
