a project developed for ETHOnline 2024 that combines the power of SSV Network with EigenLayer to offer a robust, secure, and efficient solution for Ethereum staking. Our solution enables users to seamlessly register Ethereum validators on SSV, split and distribute them across multiple non-trusting nodes, and unlock additional staking rewards by restaking their native ETH on EigenLayer.
The project also features a Bulk Validator Registration Tool, making it easier for users to onboard multiple validators in one go, further improving the scalability and accessibility of Ethereum staking for individuals and institutions alike.
How it's Made
The SSV Restaking project was built using several cutting-edge technologies, with a primary focus on integrating SSV Network and EigenLayer to offer an enhanced Ethereum staking solution. Here's a breakdown of the key technologies and components:
SSV Network: This decentralized infrastructure allows the distribution of Ethereum validator keys across multiple non-trusting operators. Leveraging SSV's Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) ensures high availability, fault tolerance, and a secure validator management system by splitting and distributing keys as KeyShares.
EigenLayer: EigenLayer's integration enables restaking of native ETH, allowing users to earn additional rewards beyond traditional staking. By creating an EigenPod smart contract, the system manages the validator's withdrawal address, ensuring rewards flow into the contract for further restaking.
Bulk Validator Registration Tool: This tool was developed to simplify onboarding multiple validators in one go, which significantly reduces the complexity for users, especially for institutional or large-scale staking operations. The tool eliminates repetitive contract calls, enabling efficient validator management with a single transaction.
