SPORES Studio Mixer

A “studio” with the SPORES as the center controller. The app takes in 2 songs, 3 stems to loop, and artwork for the skin. After remixing you can mint.

Project Description

We like the feeling you get when combining two songs together. DJ’ing in general is based off that exact feeling. With web3 there’s a whole universe of songs to play with.

  1. You can input a contract (or by default it’s just http://catalog.works)
  2. Users given a list of all the songs from that contract (can use zora api to grab all this info)
  3. Clicking on a song queues it into the Spore player

Thought it would be dope to have two circles (one on each side of the spore player), spinning. Sorta representing the 2 songs that are currently being mixed— like 2 turn tables

Bringing up a whole new dynamic/way to think about it we minted a few sounds as "layers" that could mix together and be “juiced” by other sounds. You can mix 2 songs directly w/ the cross-fader/alternate slider but then you have the "juice samples" which is basically a list of loops you can alternate between. If you have an element that is sort of a loop (like maybe drums), you could throw it in there and see how it effects that SPORES.

We limited it (for the hackathon) to a works submitted by Nate Fox, although he submitted over 20 we only used a small sample here.

How it's Made

Yeah - I used spores-kit from @__ALEZ and zoras catalog to feed the spore input from @rem_cycles and Nate. I created the front end just using bootstrap and css. I wanted to try to use zoras api to select from the catalog using the interface and also animate the disks to spin in sync with the tracks but those 2 things were too much
