A social network to meet real people - verified live, no fakes, no slops!
The internet is full of slop. Your feed are full of AI. The posts are bots farming clicks. Social networks stopped being social a while ago.
The one thing that's still real? A selfie video. Just you, your face, right now.
So here's Selfie 🤗.
The only way to talk here is a selfie video. You record it on the spot with your front camera. No text posts, no reposts, no stock photos, no bio you spent an hour writing. Just your face.
Every account is a verified human. You pass a live selfie check to get in - one person, one account. No bots. No burners. No AI. And every video gets checked to make sure it's actually real.
Selfie isn't trying to replace your family group chat or the friends you already text every day. That stuff works fine. Selfie is for the thing the internet actually lost - meeting someone new.
Scroll real faces. Find someone you'd actually want to know. Say hi the only honest way left.
Selfie already existed as a project - sel.fyi. But it never had an app. That's what we built at this hackathon: a working demo you can actually install and use.
Stack is simple: Expo Go on the phone, Cloudflare Workers on the backend.
The piece the project was always missing is World ID Selfie Check. It's what finally makes signup work the way Selfie was designed from day one - no email, no phone, no password. The selfie IS the login. Technically: the app hands you off to World App, you do a quick live face check, and our backend verifies the zero-knowledge proof server-side. We keep one thing from it - the nullifier - which quietly guarantees one human, one account. We never learn who you are, just that you're real and you're not here twice.
The app is live! Install guide is on the GitHub page or on the site - grab it and try it yourself.
