Project Description

Scrubbie is a nuanced analytical tool designed to offer meticulous insights into the world of crypto wallets. Users search an address and are revealed valuable data such as wallet age and activity, purchasing patterns, social profiles, and the number of NFTs purchased.

The functionality of Scrubbie allows users to establish their criteria weights, determining their individual definitions of high and low signal wallets. It calculates a score between 0 to 100, representing the probability that a wallet is high or low signal, offering a customized, balanced view of the intricate crypto landscape.

Scrubbie includes an API, documented in the project READ.ME, which allows for all the capabilities of the front-end app to be applied to other projects. We see this being incredibly useful for anyone building messaging clients or dApps that need to filter out spam!

The neutrality and adaptability of Scrubbie make it an essential asset for those wishing to decrypt the complexities of crypto wallet activities with precision.

How it's Made

Scrubbie empowers users to define their criteria weights, facilitating personalized discernment of high and low signal wallets. It then computes a score from 0 to 100, signifying the likelihood that a wallet or a group of wallets project a particular signal, granting a nuanced understanding of crypto wallet activities. With its adaptive scoring system, users can incorporate metrics such as wallet age, transaction time consistency, and value analysis.

Utilizing a weighted average approach, combined with various probabilistic methods, we engineered a normalized score for wallets. This score considers threshold values and individual weights of importance based on user preferences, ensuring a balanced and reflective representation of each wallet's status. Scrubbie's neutrality and versatility make it an indispensable tool for those aiming to navigate the intricacies of crypto wallets with precision.

To construct Scrubbie, we rooted our tech foundation in React, Next.js, and TypeScript.

For the data-gathering process, Airstack was used for seamless aggregation of data from various sources which provided data on Ethereum transfer events, Polygon transfer events, and social profile data. We evaluated wallets based on their association with platforms like Lens and Farcaster. The presence of XMTP enabled added an additional dimension to our metrics. We also examined wallets for ENS domains, as they often indicate a higher level of user engagement in the Ethereum ecosystem.

The beauty of Scrubbie lies in its modularity. Designed with composability in mind, it’s primed for future expansions. This includes adding more features or refining what's already there. Furthermore, Scrubbie’s structure welcomes third-party developers to incorporate more metrics and tools, ensuring its growth alongside the evolving crypto landscape.
