Project Description

Do you feel like it’s getting hotter day by day? Well, that’s not just your imagination!

Global temperatures are rising at an alarming rate, with the past decade recording some of the hottest years in history. This has devastating consequences, including reduced food supply, severe flooding, health crises, and economic losses. One of the main drivers of this crisis is carbon emissions, which intensify the greenhouse effect and worsen global warming.

The other interconnected challenges we face are lack of transparency in donations and lack of gamification and recognition. Many traditional donation platforms do not provide clear tracking of how funds are used, leaving donors unsure about their impact. This erodes trust and discourages people from participating in critical environmental initiatives. Beside that, contributing to climate action often feels unengaging and lacks acknowledgement for participants. This reduces motivation and fails to inspire repeat contributions or wider community involvement.

Introducing: Sawatreekap

Sawatreekap is an innovative platform that empowers individuals to combat climate change through tree planting. By leveraging blockchain technology, it ensures every contribution is traceable and impactful, while gamified features turn climate action into a fun and engaging experience.

At its heart, Sawatreekap addresses climate change by empowering users to plant trees that actively reduce carbon emissions, helping to mitigate global warming and its far-reaching effects. Transparency lies at the core of Sawatreekap’s mission. Every tree planted is recorded on the blockchain, allowing users to trace their contributions and verify the impact they are making.

Beyond transparency, Sawatreekap brings gamification into the equation. Users earn unique NFTs that represent their tree, complete with metadata like planting date and location. Special achievement NFTs are also awarded for completing missions, such as planting a first tree or reaching milestones like 100 trees planted. Users can showcase their progress on leaderboards, compete with others, and even share their achievements on social media, turning their eco-conscious efforts into a viral and inspiring movement.

How it's Made

To build our dApps, we leverage a comprehensive Web3 tech stack designed to ensure security, scalability, and an intuitive user experience. For the UI, we integrate Coinbase’s CDP SDKs, utilizing features from the Coinbase Smart Wallet to event listeners, creating seamless and efficient interactions for our users. The integration allows for smooth authentication and secure transaction handling, vital for fostering user trust.

Our smart contracts are deployed on the Polygon PoS network, chosen for its scalability, lower transaction costs, and compatibility with Ethereum, enabling us to reach a broader audience without compromising performance. Additionally, we use Blockscout for its smooth and user-friendly interface, which not only enhances our development and monitoring experience but also provides detailed insights into transaction history and contract interactions.

To further enrich the dApp, we prioritize real-time updates and notifications, keeping users informed and engaged with the latest changes. This tech stack enables us to deliver a robust and responsive application that meets both the current and future needs of the Web3 ecosystem.
