Blockchain-based gaming emulator with verifiable speedruns and diverse game support.
Rollup Run is a gaming emulator platform. At its core, it uses Cartesi rollups, to ensure that every player's performance is recorded accurately and immutably. This means that every speed run is verifiable, transparent, and cheat-proof. It's a big leap forward in making competitive gaming more trustworthy and fair.
But Rollup Run isn't just about keeping honest records. It also enhances the gaming experience by offering an instant replay feature, allowing players and fans to rewatch runs and learn from them. Plus, thanks to its integration with Libretro, it supports a wide range of games, making it a versatile platform for all kinds of gamers. In short, Rollup Run is making competitive gaming more reliable, enjoyable, and accessible to everyone.
During this hackathon we wanted to integrate a game emulator for verifiable speedruns. Hoping to make a platform for gameplay so we used Cartesi to run the program. However, we did face many challenges with cross-compiling, crashing, and not being able to debug the program while it was running in the virtual machine.
