Real-World Access

RWAccess is a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) demonstrating secure, decentralized access control for Real-World Assets using blockchain, cryptography, and QR codes.

By making a stablecoin payment to a smart contract, users can generate a QR code that serves as a secure digital key. This key can replace or complement traditional access methods, such as hotel room keys, conference passes, gym memberships, or any system requiring gated access, offering a seamless and composable solution.

Access is granted via QR codes containing cryptographically signed messages, replacing traditional keys or passes.

This innovative system has the potential to transform access control across industries, enabling secure, scalable, and seamless solutions for physical and digital assets.

This project leverages a Solidity smart contract to manage access rights, powered by PayPal's PYUSD stablecoin, with ENS names for user-friendly asset identification, and it's contract is deployed on both Sepolia Testnet and Zircuit Mainnet.

At its core, RWAccess employs a Solidity smart contract to manage access rights, ensuring no double-booking through precise time-bound parameters (tstart and tend).

Users pay with PYUSD, benefiting from its 1:1 USD peg for stable, low-cost transactions within PayPal’s vast network. The contract integrates ENS for human-readable asset identifiers, such as room123.hotel.eth, enhancing user experience and QR code efficiency.

A signature-server validates requests, enabling the user to generate a QR code with dual signatures for robust security, verifiable offline by access grantors.

Zircuit’s AI-driven security and zk-rollups ensure transaction protection and scalability, making RWAccess ideal for high-throughput applications.

Designed for simplicity, this PoC prioritizes minimal dependencies, enabling offline operation while laying the foundation for advanced features.

Future enhancements may include access tracking, revocation mechanisms, and granular scheduling to support diverse use cases like rentals or loyalty programs/rewards/etc.
