Project Description

The project is aimed at raising public awareness around some of the most valuable, yet under-appreciated, therapeutic technologies available and in development today, while generating funding for researchers and drug developers in academia. Our goal is to create a series of rare, generative, and collectible NFT-based molecular art representing molecules of public interest (psychoactive compounds, drugs, therapeutics, etc.) with imbued gamification mechanisms and long-term incentives that power a perpetual funding stream for academic researchers investigating the therapeutic effects of these molecules.

Given the open nature of NFTs, these structures might be modular and extensible to sponsoring real-world research and community building around open-source drug development over time. We wish to integrate economic models with automated liquidity systems that set the prices for the cost of minting pieces, and the reward for burning pieces, as seen with projects such as Neolastics and Eulerbeats. The overall engineering goal of the project is to use some of the proceeds from the sales of the NFTs to fund pioneering research projects investigating the use of psychoactive compounds to treat mental health conditions.

How it's Made

Very high-level conceptual approach was taken. No dev work was done but we have set up the next few steps for the project.

The current process of drug development and IP ownership in the pharmaceutical industry is a broken system, giving power to the few while the needs of many are not met. We believe the NFT space has the power to transform how we engage with all forms of ownership and intellectual property, fundamentally shifting ownership dynamics in favour of creators. The NFT art space is evidence of this, having rapidly created an economy for creators and collectors.
