Flare Network - MAIN TRACK: use protocols on Flare blockchain 1st place

Project Description

RampNet is a programmable on-ramping protocol that lets users seamlessly convert fiat (USD via Wise) into native tokens on supported blockchain networks—with minimal friction, no custodians, and fully on-chain verification.

The flow starts when a user sends USD via Wise, providing their target chain and wallet address. Once the payment is confirmed via Wise’s API, our backend requests a cryptographic attestation from Flare’s Data Connector (FDC). This attestation serves as on-chain proof that the fiat payment occurred. We also retrieve the USD/token exchange rate via Flare’s Time Series Oracle (FTSO) to compute the precise token amount the user should receive.

This data (attestation + wallet + amount) is then passed to a smart contract on Flare EVM, which verifies the payment and routes the transaction depending on the token requested:

  • If the user requested XRP, the contract uses fAssets to redeem and bridge native XRP to the XRPL.
  • If the user requested any other supported token (e.g., XRP, USDT0...), we send a message via LayerZero’s OApp stack to a contract on the destination chain. This contract verifies the payload and releases liquidity for the native token requested.

Onboarding is handled by Privy, allowing users to log in via email or social accounts, and interact with the protocol using abstracted wallets—making the experience accessible to both crypto-native and mainstream users.

RampNet currently supports chains like Hedera, Flare, XRPL, and soon any EVM network integrated with LayerZero. The entire system is non-custodial, transparent, and smart contract-driven—meaning the business logic (verification, conversion, and delivery) happens entirely on-chain and can be audited or extended permissionlessly.

In its current version, RampNet enables fiat → crypto on-ramping only, with off-ramping capabilities planned in future iterations.

RampNet isn't just a fiat bridge—it’s a fully modular infrastructure layer that uses the best tools available today (Wise, Flare, LayerZero, Privy) to unlock seamless access to multi-chain liquidity from the fiat world.

How it's Made

RampNet is built by combining the most reliable infrastructure across the fiat and cross-chain ecosystems. On the fiat side, we use Wise to handle USD payments. Wise’s payout API allows us to receive user funds with low fees and fast confirmation via webhooks. Once a payment is detected, our backend requests a data attestation from Flare’s Data Connector (FDC), which cryptographically proves the payment occurred. We also fetch real-time USD/token price feeds from Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) to calculate the correct token amount. RampNet app stack leverage Nextjs.

For user onboarding, we integrated Privy, enabling seamless social login (Google, Twitter, etc.) and abstracted wallets across all supported chains. This makes the ramp accessible to non-crypto-native users, while still generating standard EVM-compatible accounts.

Our smart contracts live on Flare EVM and use the FDC attestation plus price data to verify and process payments. If the user requests XRP, we redeem fXRP on Flare and bridge to the native XRPL network. For other tokens, we use LayerZero’s OApp stack to send a secure cross-chain message to a smart contract on the destination chain. That contract verifies the payload and releases pre-provisioned liquidity for the requested token.

By leveraging Wise, Privy, Flare, and LayerZero, RampNet delivers a fully programmable on-ramping experience where funds flow directly from fiat into any supported token on any connected chain—with minimal friction, high transparency, and no trusted third parties.
