Pontoon
Web3 Playing card game where players stake FLOW coins to guess safe cards and evade trap cards.
Project Description
Pontoon is a Web3 betting game built on the Flow network. Two players stake equal amounts of FLOW coins and are randomly assigned one of the two possible player roles (the Challenger and the Conman) via a VRF and compete in timed rounds. The Challenger can stop early; the Conman cannot. The game combines on-chain logic for fairness and payouts with off-chain indexing for real-time state and UI updates, delivering a transparent, verifiable, and engaging PvP gaming experience.
How it's Made
We used Flow and Cadence to design the smart contracts and deploy them. We made an interactive and engaging frontend with React.js and Vite. We also used Convex DB for off-chain data storage and real-time query handling.
