Pepewagon, allowing users to map and earn rewards while contributing towards open source dataset.
Pepewagon is an online platform where we allow users to contribute towards an open-sourced map dataset that is stored on-chain and get rewards. With Pepewagon, we aim to not only benefit existing users within the space and ecosystem but to onboard more people into Web3 and acceptance of blockchain technologies.
In addition to our online platform, we also built an IOT device which is basically a robot car called Pepewagon. The main function of the Pepewagon is to actually serves as the data capture point for the web app. Any users that buy Pepewagon can deploy them and control the device via their phone/controller provided, making the job of capturing data way more comfortable. Besides that, each Pepewagon is equipped with cameras and sensors to better navigate and provide the right feedback towards its users.
By incentivizing users when they contribute map data, we are able to turn:
This project is built to be accessed as a web app, where both desktop and mobile view should be accepted. We used NextJS, TailwindCSS and Shadcn as the frontend. For the contracts, we deployed it using hardhat on Scroll, Polygon and Flow. The data of our application is stored on Storacha IPFS.
We tried using hyperbolic to power our application with AI, but found it hard to implement due to unknown dependencies error.
