Project Description

Panic Protocol is an emergency stop button for hacked wallets that still works after all gas or your ETH is drained, using prepaid emergency gas credits and a gas-less relay to sweep your assets to safety.

When your wallet is compromised and drained of ETH, normally first to go, you cannot pay gas to execute emergency transactions on your remaining assets - you're locked out of your own rescue mechanism and time is money.

Panic Protocol combines an emergency stop button with a novel self-funding mechanism. Users purchase PANIC tokens upfront as "emergency gas credits" that can be redeemed through a gas-less relay when they have no ETH.

This allows you to secure your remaining assets and sweep them to a safe wallet address or ENS.

How it's Made

The Panic Protocol idea comes from my own personal experiences in web, recently my wallet was compromised and drained faster than I could move ETH around to save the loss of all my tokens and some NFTs. I wanted to create a way for people to safeguard themselves in the event this happens to them.

The project is built using React, React Router 7, Tailwind and Shadcn UI for rapid prototyping.

The Panic Protocol ERC-20 token is used as the gas for our gas-less relay. The Approval dashboard allows you to view and revoke any token and NFT approvals (Similar to revoke.cash) which will be highlighted as security risks with appropriate warnings.

More to come here... happy hacking
