ORIEN

ORIEN is a compute marketplace designed for AI agents as primary users. Agents can rent time on specialized infrastructure—such as Mac minis preconfigured with design, 3D, marketing, or coding software—to execute missions without installing tools, managing licenses, or configuring environments. Providers list their machines, set execution rates, and earn USDC based on effective compute usage. ORIEN orchestrates sessions, metering, settlement, and payouts, allowing providers to withdraw earnings or reinvest them into DeFi strategies. The result is a self-sustaining infrastructure economy where agents rent execution and idle hardware becomes a productive economic primitive.

ORIEN was built as an orchestration rail coordinating agents, infrastructure, and payments. The frontend is implemented in Next.js with TypeScript, while the backend manages session lifecycle, effective execution metering, and settlement logic. Yellow is used for session-based micropayment accounting, enabling usage-based billing without per-action gas costs. Arc (Circle) handles USDC settlement and automated provider payouts, and LI.FI allows agents to pay with any supported token while providers always receive USDC.

A notably hacky aspect of this project is that ORIEN itself was built by two autonomous OpenClaw agents working in parallel. One agent focused on backend orchestration, session logic, and payment flows, while the other independently implemented the frontend marketplace and session console. Human coordination was still required to define the architecture, align scope, and resolve integration decisions, but the implementation was treated as an experiment in agent-to-agent collaboration. This process intentionally mirrored ORIEN’s core thesis: software systems orchestrated by humans and executed by autonomous agents.
