Onchain Senryu

Onchain Senryu is a platform that brings the traditional Japanese art of senryu into the modern digital world using cutting-edge blockchain technology. Senryu are short, often humorous or satirical poems, traditionally popular in Japan. This platform allows users to create senryu poems with the help of AI, making the art form accessible to people from all over the world, regardless of their familiarity with Japanese culture.

The platform works by enabling users to generate senryu through an AI-powered interface. Once created, users can submit their senryu to the blockchain, where it is permanently recorded. This ensures the authenticity and ownership of each poem, as it becomes part of an immutable public ledger. Additionally, the community can engage with these poems by participating in a transparent voting process, where votes are securely and transparently recorded on the blockchain.

Onchain Senryu not only preserves the traditional aspects of senryu but also enhances them by making the process of creation and sharing more interactive and global. The platform integrates with Goldsky for real-time data management, ensuring that vote counts and rankings are always up-to-date. World ID integration ensures that only verified users can participate, enhancing the platform's security and integrity.

By combining AI, blockchain, and real-time data management, Onchain Senryu offers a unique way for users to explore, create, and share senryu, bridging cultural gaps and bringing a traditional art form into the global spotlight. This project is designed to inspire creativity and cultural exchange, inviting users from different backgrounds to participate in and appreciate the rich tradition of Japanese senryu.

Onchain Senryu is built by combining advanced technologies to create a decentralized, secure, and engaging platform for poetry enthusiasts worldwide. The front-end is developed using Next.js, chosen for its ability to deliver a responsive and interactive user experience. The interface allows users to easily create and interact with senryu poems, whether they are familiar with blockchain or not.

For generating senryu poems, the platform leverages the Groq API, which allows users to input prompts or themes in English and receive a senryu in Japanese. This integration makes the creation process accessible to users globally, even if they are not familiar with the nuances of traditional Japanese poetry.

The back-end infrastructure is powered by Solidity smart contracts, deployed on the Base blockchain using Foundry. These smart contracts manage the submission and voting processes, ensuring that every senryu is permanently recorded on the blockchain. This guarantees that all user-generated content is immutable and verifiable, adding a layer of trust and transparency to the platform.

To secure the platform and prevent bot activity, Onchain Senryu integrates World ID for user authentication. This ensures that only verified users can participate in creating and voting on senryu, maintaining the integrity of the platform.

Additionally, the project uses Goldsky for real-time data management. Goldsky’s subgraph technology enables efficient querying and sorting of senryu based on vote counts, ensuring that the rankings displayed on the platform are always up-to-date.

Every component of Onchain Senryu is carefully selected to bridge traditional Japanese culture with modern technology.
