Avail - Most innovative use of bridgeAndExecute() in Avail Nexus SDK

Project Description

The inspiration for this came in Berlin Blockchain week, there was a poor bar staff who was extremely overworked at one of the side events. She had a pathetic little cardboard box with a small slot at the top for fiat donations, obviously the crypto crowd being international didn't have many coins and notes may have been too generous as a tip for most peoples liking. The result? Next to nothing collected, not just on that night, but for the 3 nights she worked she collected around €30 in tips. Having served several hundreds of people in a wealthy crowd to collect what would have been an average of €2/hour in tips is pretty abysmal. So I thought, "we have to get this woman a QR code for her ENS and get those donations" but she was completely crypto-ignorant, was I really going to be able to teach her good wallet management habits and an off-ramp procedure that works for her in a couple minutes?

It got me thinking of how many people desperately need crowdfunding and tipping facilitation in environments where people are more nomadic or don't like to use fiat. My easy-to-understand and intuitive app utilises Privy which allows users to sign up with email through account abstraction and built in fiat-purchase of crypto ready to utilise. Fantastic for frictionless UI experience for Type-A users (donators). Type-B users (recipients) post the projects they would like to collect aid for. Then utilising Avail, donators are able to support the project of their choosing from whatever source chain they like using the increasingly popular stablecoin USDC.

Since I worked solo, this was the limit I could hack. However, the bar staff stuck on my mind. So I'm also submitting my idea of what this could evolve into with zircuit and its native advantages. Because I wont be conformed until we, as crypto-natives can tip outsiders with the tap of a phone - why isn't that widespread, isn't less friction what we want?

How it's Made

I use privy to allow crypto natives to utilise whatever wallet they desire, also for them to on-ramp using trafi means. Its even more useful for my non-crypto target audience who can sign in with email and dont need to know that its blockchain under the hood. This is connected to the next.js front end where I utilise the avail functions to bridge and execute the transfer from te donor to the recipient.

Nexus sdk checks the balances on the other chains, transfers and then executes which makes the user experiences really clean. I believe this implementation is a great example of a perfect use-case. Chain agnostic crowdfunding. Similar to popular sites such as gofundme or the farcaster mini-app.
