Project Description

I and my team made Nectar after asking a simple question of what if saving on-chain felt exciting instead of passive?

We answer the question by building a protocol where users come together to save collectively, knowing their principal is always protected and withdrawable at any time.

We chose ARC as our execution layer, where we deployed the core protocol and savings groups. When funds are pooled on ARC, we deploy them to DeFi yield sources like Aave to generate collective returns. Instead of spreading small interest across everyone, we use Chainlink VRF to fairly select winners who receive the yield, turning saving into a game without turning it into a gamble.

We decided to remove friction entirely form the protocol for users, so we integrated cross-chain bridging so users can join from any chain and participate seamlessly on ARC which was made possible with LiFi.

How it's Made

We built Nectar from the ground up with modularity and security in mind. I and my team wrote and deployed Solidity smart contracts using Foundry, starting with a factory that creates individual savings groups on demand. Each group manages deposits, withdrawals, yield deployment to Aave and winner selection powered by Chainlink VRF.

On the frontend, we built a smooth, responsive experience with Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, connecting everything with Wagmi, Viem, and Reown AppKit for wallet interactions.

We integrated Li.Fi to bridge assets across chains, ensuring users can participate no matter where their funds live.
