MyDonate is a fundraising platform that seeks to create and contribute to the giving layer of the internet with blockchain technology: a community where all individuals, organisations, and nonprofits can champion causes that are of societal concern and raise funds in cryptocurrency to make a change (for example, the Russia invasion of Ukraine has affected citizens in Ukraine to have access to funds to go about their daily activities due to the closure of most financial institutions, with MyDonate, we believe it can be of help to people in Ukraine to get access to funds from people across the world and use those funds to go about their daily activities). With MyDonate, all individuals and organisations have to their disposer tools they need to raise funds and share their cause far and wide and make use of the power of generosity through our usage of blockchain technology. All activities on the platform flows on blockchain hence making them transparent to end users. Blockchain is a proven technology in today’s world with regards to data safety and hence we are taking such step.

MyDonate will become the new innovative force of the giving layer of the internet through cryptocurrency funding sources: contributions made by all individuals, organisations, and nonprofits interested in the societal developments.

We started off by making a UI design of the platform with figma right after settling on an idea. After a day or two of coming up with a complete design, we decided on the technologies to use. The frontend of the platform is built with Nextjs, Reactjs, Heroicons, Web3, Ethersjs and Tailwind css. The backend is built with Typescript, Hardhat, Polygon/ Matic, IPFS, Chainlink and Solidity. All media on the platform are stored on IPFS. We deployed the smart contract to Matic and deployed the frontend on Vercel.
