Mixdown

Mixdown is a dapp for creating collaborative audio built on top of Lens Protocol. Creators can post audio tracks (stored as a Lens post with an audio file), and collaborators can add new audio layers on top of them to create a Mixdown (stored as Lens comments with both the new track, and the combined audio mix). Together, creators can fork, add, and collaboratively create audio on Lens. Fans can collect songs at any point in the creative process. In the future, we'd like to introduce a custom collect module that allows splitting payments to all contributors for a given Mixdown.

We used RainbowKit, Vite, React, wagmi, the Lens API, Apollo, Polygon Mumbai, NFT.storage, and the Web Audio API.

Mixing audio in-browser is certainly hacky: neither of us are sound engineers and we learned a lot about working with audio on the web.

We were pretty impressed that we were able to model our whole app using Lens posts and comments!
