Project Description

Mintaro is a global, trustless freelance platform built to remove the need for centralized escrow. Clients fund jobs directly on Polygon using x402-powered agentic payments, while freelancers submit work that is permanently stored on Filecoin (Calibration testnet via Lighthouse). Each submission generates a verifiable CID that is recorded on-chain and indexed by The Graph, making profiles, jobs, and deliverables fully queryable.

Our design ensures freelancers cannot be rugged by clients withholding payment, and clients cannot be scammed with unverifiable work — the smart contracts hold funds until the deliverable CID is submitted and approved. Profiles and reputation are also decentralized: users’ bios, links, and avatars are uploaded to Filecoin, tied to wallet addresses, and surfaced via subgraph queries in the frontend.

Mintaro demonstrates how decentralized storage, programmable payments, and open indexing can reimagine freelancing as a transparent, borderless economy.

How it's Made

We built Mintaro using smart contracts on Polygon to handle job escrows, milestone funding, and agentic payments via x402. All user profiles and deliverables are stored on Filecoin through Lighthouse, with CIDs submitted to the Calibration testnet for verifiable deals. A custom subgraph indexes contract events so the frontend can instantly query profiles, jobs, and deliverables. The frontend itself is a Next.js app using wagmi and Web3Modal for wallet connections, with API routes that upload files to Lighthouse while keeping keys secure. Together, Polygon, Filecoin, and The Graph form a fully decentralized workflow where payments, storage, and indexing are all transparent and trustless.
