Project Description

This project is a generative found poem game built with swift. The set up is in a dark maze, and words are the only source of light. The first word that users see is a seed phrase mnemonic word chosen randomly from Ethereum's 2048 seed words. The seed word is fixed at the origin, signifying that seed words give people anchor and safety amid uncertainty and darkness. Users can play the game by exploring the maze and by tapping their favorite words. Once the words are selected, users can shake their phone and the words will become a poem generated by an LLM. After the user has made several lines of poems by exploring several screens, they find the exit, which is marked by infinity. When they exit, a screenshot is generated that shows users' trail within the maze, lightened by words selected and poems generated.

How it's Made

The project is built as an iOS mobile app. We used swift language to code it and xcode as the compiler. We chose iOS for its immersive experience, enabling smooth animations and gestures like shaking to generate poems. I also pulled an LLM API from TogetherAI which help users generate poems given selected words. The UX features a wrap-around scrolling (the canvas is finite but never ends, when you scroll to the rightmost side, you get out from the leftmost side), making the canvas a de facto maze.
