Project Description

Loto Water Guardian is a decentralized platform that transforms daily consumer actions into a transparent force for water conservation. By leveraging the social coordination power of digital fandoms, Loto enables users to scan product barcodes to instantly verify their hydric footprint via the Climatiq API. The project solves the lack of accountability in corporate sustainability by creating an immutable ledger of 'Proof of Conservation'. Users earn Aqua-Points for responsible consumption, which are managed through a community-governed USDC treasury on Arc. This capital is programmatically routed to fund real-world water infrastructure projects, such as rain-harvesting wells in high-stress areas like Mexico City, bridging the gap between digital activism and tangible environmental impact

How it's Made

Loto is built with a mobile-first React frontend and a FastAPI backend for real-time data processing. We integrated Yellow Network's SDK to enable 'Impact Sessions' via Nitrolite state channels, allowing users to validate dozens of products instantly with zero gas fees. Financial transparency is handled by Circle’s Arc L1, managing a secure USDC treasury for community payouts. We also implemented a Uniswap v4 Hook that directs a portion of liquidity fees from community tokens toward our water fund. For data accuracy, we use html5-qrcode for scanning, Open Food Facts for product identification, and the Climatiq API to calculate dynamic hydric scores based on real-time drought indices. All user identities are managed via ENS, providing a seamless, human-readable onboarding experience for non-crypto native fans
