For legal purposes, it is often necessary to prove that an email was sent—and to verify its exact content. This is particularly important when sending legal notices, such as claims for owed payments or contractual communications. Traditionally, this has required relying on centralized third-party services that send the email on your behalf and certify the communication.

Lexproof offers a decentralized alternative. With Lexproof, you can send emails directly from your own email account. By leveraging Vlayer’s cryptographic email proofs, you gain a verifiable, tamper-proof record of the email and its content—securely anchored on the blockchain. This provides legal-grade assurance without surrendering control to intermediaries.

Using Nylas we provide an email address to be cc'd by you when sending a legal notice to a third party. This way we can obtain a copy of the DKIM-signed email with all the necessary data to make it valid as a legal proof (including content) That automated inbox is connected to prover and verifier contracts created using Vlayer technology, which ends up generating an NFT that contains all the information necessary to prove the email communication. Additionally, for ease of use, we enable accessing with your Gmail account (can be used with other email providers thanks to Nylas) to draft and send the emails directly from our application, where you also have access to all the communications you made. Apart from being able to view all the information within our application, you can verify everything on the blockchain thanks to the integration with Blockscout.
