A test of onchain acheivments from nostolgic games of yesterday.
There isn't a huge onchain component to this. It is just a simple achievement minting an NFT after beating your first enemy in this very basic implementation of the Links journey.
Gaming in web3 is weird. We all want it, but none of us know how to do it. It won't be a big thing in AAA games anytime soon...but I think the nostalgia of older pixelated games with small onchain components has its merits.
Doing this sparked a lot of ideas, but one stood out to me in particular...NFTs as save states that can unlock cool items, achievements, and experiences. That can also be traded and shared with others.
Built in React using Canvas. It is a recreation of The Legend of Zelda and simply showcases focusing on actual fun gaming and adding blockchain elements to enhance the experience instead of tailoring the game to simply be onchain. Elements and experiences should be onchain not every aspect of a game.
