3D Scanning environments with Iphone, minting the GLB data as NFTs to the Skale Network and allowing users to revisit those locations in the metaverse. Location coordinates are recorded in the metadata of the NFTs that we use to make an interactive map.

Project Description

Our project is about minting memories as NFTs. We are building access through NFTs to an interactive fixed point in time. With the invention of XR technology, Lidar, and Photogrammetry we are now able to scan our environments in 3D, mint our data to the SKALE Network, and relieve those events with others. Think about it as a ticket to share time travel experiences with friends. This project could be used as a protocol layer for Proof of Attendance Protocol. We used the Iphone to record GLB data which is a standardized file format used to share 3D data. Uploaded the files to SKALE Network as NFTs. From there we created a protocol to query the NFTs, and a rendering agent to render the GLB files. From there we used Google model viewer to utilize the VR Headset in our protocol. We can now tokenize any GLB file, mint it as a NFT and view it in VR.

How it's Made

We built our platform on SKALE Network, using Solidity for the smart contract and Vue.js and React.js for the frontend. We also utilized the file storage system of SKALE to host our NFT metadata & GLB files. Other technologies we used were the Google maps API to visualize the geographical data associated with every NFT, Figma for the design of the UI/UX, and google model-viewer to render the 3D files. We used Ethereum developer tools: Open Zeppelin SDK, Remix, and Web3.js. Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop for design tools.
