Decentralized video conferencing built for remote learning using blockchain and web3 technology
Huddle01 is building a decentralized video conferencing solution catered towards remote learning. We are live and have been in beta for the last 2 months with few-edtech clients.
We are solving 3 major problems:
After talking to over 500 educators and students we realized how big a problem remote learning is in the sout-east asian region. While everything has shifted to remote, latency still remains a big problem to solve. Hence Huddle 01's team started building a vertical product which solves for latency.
We solve for latency (audio, video jitters) like no one else. Huddle 01's protocol aims to achieve a latency of <100ms (millisecond). Currently the latency of video conferencing apps in the South east asian region is >500ms which leads to bad learning experience.
We are building a decentralized video conferencing for remote learning using blockchain and web3 technology. We use Filecoin for storing the meeting artifacts like recordings using textile powergate.
One important feature for educators during video conferencing is doing livestreaming to reach to students at scale.
To do livestreaming Huddle leverage livepeer. For this we launch an automated puppeteer chromium instance which goes to the meeting room and records it while output the stream buffer array to FFMPEG which further relays it to the Livepeer RTMP ingest URL. Parallel, we create a stream on livepeer through its API and fed the playback URL from livepeer dashbaord on our endpoint "/stream:roomid where people can directly access the livestream which would be educational in nature.
