Overview: This project aims to provide members-only decentralized video content creators/streamers with the ability to engage with their community by rewarding listeners with NFTs representing specific episodes/tracks. Each video contains information insights that is used to test the listeners knowledge and prove they were paying attention to the video/audio.
Problem Background: Media censorship in society has created mistrust between our institutions and people. It's a slippery slope when people are being silenced online. As a recent example, there was a petition signed by 270 doctors against Spotify demanding they stop "misinformation" Joe Rogan Experience. Using Livepeer and IPFS, creators can share censorship resistant content to exist online indefinitely. Decentralized file storage is coming. We expect a need for better engagement opportunities with decentralized video content creators.
Market Background: The video streaming market will grow to $223.98 billion by 2028. Live videos hold users’ attention 10-20x longer than pre-recorded, on-demand content. The live music event with the highest live viewership was 2019 Coachella at about 82.9 million live views.
Typical User Journey:
Applicable markets: Healthcare education videos, live events, OnlyFans, concerts, sports, live podcasts
Due to the brevity of this competition, we decided to make use of the workshops' demo apps as a starting point in our exploration. We used two Azure servers to stand up over 10 demo apps and decided to build around those examples that worked "straight out the box." We created a typical user journey based on a familiar starting point: Ray's podcast venture - HEALTH UNCHAINED.
