Project Description

Glide is an "Onboarding-as-a-Service" SDK designed to solve the 50%+ user drop-off in DeFi. While most infrastructure focuses on wallet custody, Glide focuses on the first 7 days of the user journey. We provide protocols with a plug-and-play solution that allows new users to experience DeFi at Web2 speeds without the typical hurdles.

The platform eliminates the two biggest barriers: seed phrase anxiety and gas fee friction. By integrating Privy for seamless social logins and Yellow Network for off-chain state channel sessions, Glide offers a unique 7-day gasless trial. During this period, users can swap, stake, and lend without paying gas or owning native tokens. At the end of the trial, a settlement occurs on Arc, and the "hooked" user is transitioned into a permanent, paid participant. Glide transforms onboarding from a technical hurdle into a powerful growth engine for protocols, charging based on successful conversions rather than just active users.

How it's Made

Glide is built as a modular SDK consisting of a React-based frontend wrapper and a robust cross-chain backend.

The Identity Layer: We integrated Privy to enable instant embedded wallet creation via Email or OAuth, removing the "seed phrase" barrier from second one.

The Gasless Engine (The "Secret Sauce"): We leveraged Yellow Network's state channels to create temporary "trial sessions." This is the core of our innovation: instead of sponsoring individual on-chain transactions (which is expensive), we open a state channel that allows 7 days of off-chain activity with zero latency and zero gas.

Settlement & Liquidity: We used Arc as our primary settlement layer to manage the sponsorship pools and the final state transition when a user’s trial ends.

The "Hacky" Part: To make the experience truly "drop-in," we built a custom Higher-Order Component (HOC) that intercepts standard ethers/viem calls from the host protocol and redirects them through the Yellow state channel if the user is in "Trial Mode." This means a protocol like Aave or Uniswap could integrate Glide with less than 10 lines of code without rewriting their internal transaction logic.

Identity & Reputation: We utilized ENS to automatically assign subdomains (e.g., user.glide.eth) to trial users, giving them an immediate sense of identity and making the "anonymous" wallet feel like a premium account from day one.
