This project is a decentralized open-source contribution platform where developers and maintainers collaborate with transparency and rewards baked in.

WORKING: Two actors – Organizations (Repo owners) and Bounty Hunters (Developers) both authenticate with MetaMask and GitHub. Admins can onboard repos (create or load existing), set issues as bounties and lock rewards into a Hedera smart contract escrow. Contributors can raise issues, submit PRs and once their PR is merged, the escrow automatically releases the bounty to their wallet. To keep things fluid, contributors can swap tokens to their likings and profitability across chains (for instance, Filecoin to Ethereum) using Uniswap. To help contributors find the right repos, we’ve added an Agentic AI recommendation engine that suggests projects to contribute to based on their GitHub activity. All issues raised, prs merged and recommendation results are stored on Filecoin (with a CID generated) for transparency and decentralization and then anchored on Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) for auditability.

In short it’s GitHub + Bounties + AI + Cross-chain swaps + Transparency, stitched together in a way that’s actually usable for devs!!!

Our project started with a case study of GitHub Access Restrictions Due to U.S. Sanctions!

In 2019, GitHub, the world's largest code hosting platform, faced a significant challenge. To comply with U.S. trade sanctions, GitHub restricted access for developers in countries like Iran, Syria, Crimea, Cuba and North Korea. This meant that developers in these regions could no longer access private repositories or certain paid services.

This situation underscored a critical issue: the centralized nature of platforms like GitHub can inadvertently limit access to essential tools and resources for developers based on geopolitical factors. At the same time we wanted to focus on ease of adaptation for developers.

Our Solution: A Decentralized Open Source Developer Ecosystem

Inspired by this challenge, we envisioned a platform that empowers developers without the constraints of centralized control. Our approach integrates:

Decentralized Bounties: Utilizing smart contracts on Hedera, we ensure that bounties for open-source contributions are transparent, immutable and automatically disbursed upon PR merges.

AI-Powered Repo Recommendations: Leveraging Agentic AI, we analyze developer profiles and activity to suggest relevant repositories, fostering meaningful contributions.

Cross-Chain Token Swaps: Through Uniswap, contributors can seamlessly swap tokens across different blockchains, enhancing liquidity and flexibility.

Immutable Data Storage: Using Filecoin, we store metadata and recommendation data, ensuring that all information is tamper-proof and verifiable.

By decentralizing key aspects of the development process, we aim to create an ecosystem where developers are not bound by the limitations of centralized platforms, ensuring open and equitable access for all.
