Project Description

genSwaps is a cutting-edge cross-chain swapping protocol designed to make it seamless for anyone to swap assets across multiple EVM and non-EVM blockchains. By integrating advanced aggregation from 1inch Fusion and leveraging industry-leading bridges, genSwaps enables users to access the best liquidity and rates across networks without leaving a single intuitive interface.

Key features include:

Unified Swap Experience: Easily exchange tokens between diverse blockchains with one click.

Optimized Routes: Get the best prices through intelligent aggregation of decentralized liquidity sources.

Wide Chain Support: Swap assets across major chains like Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Cosmos-based chains, and more.

Secure & Fast: Non-custodial architecture keeps you in control while fast transaction routing minimizes delays.

User-Friendly Interface: Designed with DeFi newcomers and pros in mind, featuring a clean, professional UI.

Whether you’re a trader looking to arbitrage across networks or simply moving assets where you need them, genSwaps makes cross-chain swaps easy, efficient, and secure.

How it's Made

genSwaps was built from the ground up with a focus on composability and interoperability. The core of the project leverages the 1inch SDKs and Fusion API, which power the swap logic and liquidity aggregation for EVM chains. This allows users to get optimized routes for their token swaps, ensuring competitive prices and minimal slippage.

On the front end, Next.js with React provides a fast, responsive single-page application. Tailwind CSS was used for styling to achieve a clean, modern, dark-themed DeFi interface. RainbowKit and Web3Modal handle wallet connections, supporting popular wallets like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and WalletConnect.

For cross-chain logic, genSwaps integrates with bridges and protocols that enable moving assets between EVM and non-EVM ecosystems. The architecture is designed to be modular so more protocols (like Axelar or Wormhole) can be plugged in as needed for expanded non-EVM support.

The app fetches real-time quotes by directly interacting with 1inch’s APIs, which means the front end acts as a lightweight client without requiring a centralized backend for core swap execution. However, a simple Node.js server with Express was set up to cache and relay quotes during development, reducing API rate limits and improving response times.
