ETH Couture is a decentralized marketplace tackling fashion industry issues: overproduction, poor fit, lack of trust, and intellectual property theft. We empower designers with tools for customer engagement, design protection, and product traceability using blockchain technology.
Our project is a decentralized marketplace specifically designed to address critical challenges in the fashion industry, such as overproduction, poor fit, lack of trust, and intellectual property theft. The fashion industry contributes to about 10% of global carbon emissions and generates 92 million tons of waste annually, largely due to overproduction and excess inventory.
Additionally, poorly fitting clothing results in high return rates, with 30-40% of online apparel purchases being returned, half of which are due to poor fit. Younger consumers seek brands with strong sustainability credentials, but transparency is often lacking, leading to diminished consumer trust and frequent exposure to counterfeit products.
Alternative fashion designers, especially those producing eco-friendly products, struggle to reach their niche markets due to the absence of platforms catering to diverse fashion tastes. They also face difficulties in protecting their designs from being copied, with many falling victim to design theft by manufacturers. Ensuring the privacy and security of client data is another significant challenge in this digitally-driven market.
Our platform offers a comprehensive solution by enabling designers to engage directly with their audience, gather customer insights, and offer personalized fashion. Designers can list their products, detailing materials, production processes, and sustainability practices, and mint their designs as unique NFTs to ensure authenticity and protect intellectual property.
Blockchain technology is utilized to track the production and supply chain, providing full transparency to customers and building trust.
The platform supports designers in reducing overproduction and waste by creating tailored products that meet individual needs, thereby streamlining production processes and minimizing returns. Customers can participate in brand decisions by sharing their data and preferences, receiving products that better meet their needs, and feeling more connected to the brands they support.
Our business model includes various revenue streams such as transaction fees (2.5%-3% of the sale price), listing fees based on the duration or type of object, minting fees for NFTs, and premium services offering marketing tools and access to exclusive metaverse events. Additionally, we plan to integrate features for auctions, partnerships, collaborations, advertising, sponsored content, and future secondary marketplace royalties.
The unique value proposition of our platform lies in its combination of rewards, traceability, and authenticity enabled by blockchain technology, which is not offered by existing platforms. By fostering a community through collectibles and ensuring design protection, we aim to transform the fashion industry, support alternative designers, and promote sustainable practices.

This project was made entirely on Figma. We focused on showing the main pages with the major features our project holds: it is a marketplace for sustainable products that allow user/customer interaction beyond purchasing a fashion design. On each page, we added buttons that will lead the user to on-chain resources, such as the Snapshot for voting, and the Metamask to connect the wallet. Although we couldn't integrate, as we didn't use code, ideally, Huddle would be used for designers to upload their posts, specifically live videos and stories.
