Decentralized event-platform for blockchain clubs to leverage education.
As interest in Web3.0 grows, blockchain communities continue to organize more events around the world. We observe several pain points in the organization and coordination of these Web3.0 events. Most notably, event information is scattered across multiple channels and participants find it very difficult to follow different events at the same time. Our app features, the details of which are elaborated upon below, seek to alleviate this challenge.
Audience outreach: Small DAOs and student clubs don’t have many followers on their social media channels.
Participation authentication: Most of the event organizers can’t issue NFT tickets. They send e-mails tickets to participants which can’t be authenticated. Also, event organizers don’t have a technology to track the participants. NFT ticketing would allow organizers to authenticate tickets easily and can measure participant’s engagement with sponsors by tracking their wallet addresses.
Access to sponsorships: Non-profit-oriented Web3.0 communities such as DAOs and student clubs typically need funding to organize large-scale events. Right now, each organization manages its own sponsorship process based on individual, usually pre-existing, relationships with Web3.0 industry members. When a community’s network has been exhausted and they have not found enough funding, the event is cancelled. An event aggregation platform that connects Web3.0 brands and event organizers would support the entire ecosystem and help increase engagement.
Event participants (individuals, teams, start-ups, companies): Participants enjoy a range of features to ensure ease, including:
Event navigation: Generally speaking, participants can’t find relevant information pre/during/post-event. It is extremely difficult to know which session happens when and where. If any change happens in the timeline, participants are not aware of it because either the tweet or discord message is buried in another notification.
Ticket authentication: Participants are asked to bring their ID to authenticate their tickets. Check-in process is cumbersome and participants have to line up for even shorter events. NFT tickets would streamline this process and help participants get rid of authentication and lining up.
Platform Features To address and solve these pain points, we are developing Decentralize.Events. Our brand-new platform will consolidate all the Web3.0 events. It will help not only organizers manage their events effectively, but also participants to navigate during the events. Our platform will have 7 major features to unlock the potential in Web3.0 event organization.
Profile creation with wallet connection: Organizers, participants, speakers, brands/sponsors can create profile on Decentralize.Events for free by connecting with their wallets. Walletconnect technology is used to enable login with a self-custody wallet. Users can also upload relevant information about their identity and can interact with other users. Lens is used for profile creation.
NFT ticketing: we will enable organizers to issue NFT tickets. They can sell the NFT tickets on our platform and participants will be allowed to trade their tickets on secondary markets. Though, organizers will be able to put a variety of constraints on NFT sales to regulate their operations. Organizers will also be able to create different tiers to grant limited access for various price levels. Our flexible design will allow organizers to segment their participants and cater for changing customer demand.
Housing information: Our platform will create a housing marketplace so that participants can share rooms/houses or find cheap alternatives from locals. Participants can find each other and apply for houses together. Locals can list their houses on our platform to provide decent accomodation for participants.
Sponsorships platform: Brands/sponsors can create an enterprise account and have an access to all events that they can sponsor. Organizers will also have an access to sponsor network. This feature will facilitate funding process and help sponsors and organizers match rapidly.
Business Model We are a 100% non-profit organization seeking out helping organizers and participants be more active in the space. Our purpose is to structure the event operations in a organized platform. Our platform will not yield any profit but we need to make money to sustain operations. We construct a sustainable business model to unlock one revenue source to compensate business expenses:
Revenue source: We will have a cut from NFT ticket sales and sponsorships. This fee will be as minimal as possible. The percentage of the charge will be determined once the expenses are realized.
Expense items: In terms of infrastructure, we will use different technologies provided by reputable vendors who will charge us. Secondly, we will employ a team to maintain and develop the platform. We will also promote our product on multiple platforms to boost adoption and user traction.
Ultimately, we will adjust the ticket and sponsorship fees in a way that we don’t make profit but sustain our operations. Decentralize.Events will offer a full-fledged solution to organizers and participants with minimal cost.
There are three important tech stacks to explain our project details: (1) Front-end, (2) Back-end: (2.1) Data storage, (2.2) Wallet connection, (2.3) NFT issuing and distribution
We developed our front-end and mobile application on the cross-plattform Flutter. Users face login screen when they open the application, authenticate with their wallet powered by WalletConnect and when logged in, see past, current, upcoming events on the Events Tab. They can click on any upcoming events, they will see and purchase tickets for them, If the organiser activated it, one can purchase an NFT-ticket for the event and store it in their WalletConnect compatible wallet.Furthermore the app contains: Event map, Accomodation opportunities, Timeline, Speaker list, Sponsors, Prizes The Organizer can create events and list them in the event board, Issue NFT tickets by uploading the image and information and using NFTport in the backend, List them on the explore page and sell to eligible participants, then view the participant list and send them messages before the event, the organiser can access Sponsors marketplace to reach out relevant brands. The Sponsors can provide sponsorship with one-click,can view the events and get access to organizer contacts.
Back-end: For Data storage we use neo4j to store user and event data. we connect front-end with neo4j back-end through GraphQL.
Log-in: We use WalletConnect technology for platform log-in. We enabled the authentication on Firebase with WalletConnect which gives an edge to our product. We use WalletConnect authentication to help users make authentication in other apps.
Profile: We use Lens protocol to create user profiles and allow them to connect with wallets.
NFT Ticketing: We use NFT Port to create NFTs, ticket tokens and different ticket tiers. We use NFT Port API to get the NFT information. We mint, sell and distribute NFTs on Polygon Blockchain. We use Filecoin IPFS webpage nft.storage to upload and store metadata of NFT tickets. Information consists of name, description, and image. We call NFT Port API and create NFT tickets.
