Project Description

Explain the motivation behind your project? Modern parents are facing more challenges in parenting, as they have fewer siblings and a close community to share experience and resources. Our project aims to create a supportive parenting community, particularly for working parents, to share responsibilities, spark creative ideas, and improve after-school and weekend activities. By doing this, we enable parents to provide mindful care and education with less effort, empowering women to maintain their careers while prioritizing family.

What was your inspiration? Our inspiration came from the common challenges faced by women, especially mothers, in balancing family and career. Women are often asked how they manage this balance, and many end up pausing their careers for parenting. Even as children go to school, parents are still faced with the need for a flexible schedule due to school hours and extracurricular activities. Over time, parents develop systems to manage these challenges, but moving to a new place means starting over. This led us to envision a co-parenting community that could alleviate these burdens and provide support for parents.

How it's Made

We used OpenZeppelin for governance Solidity files. We used React for the front end with a Django backend for the Moralis API that bridged the Brownie-ETH hosted deployed smart contracts.

XDC: The application is deployed on the XDC sidechain. We successfully managed to launch it here.

Unlock Protocol: We were able to set up an onboarding checkout experience, but ran out of time to fully integrate it into the overall app.
