Cryptoon is built with Next.js 14 + TypeScript for the frontend and Node.js + Express for the backend, deployed on Base Sepolia testnet.
CDP Products Integration:
Technical Architecture: The platform implements a hub-and-spoke model where the backend acts as an x402 facilitator. We used @statechannels browser-based wallet concepts for inspiration, though our implementation directly integrates CDP Embedded Wallet. The frontend communicates with the backend via HTTP 402 responses, triggering USDC transfers on Base Sepolia.
Notable Hack: We extended x402 beyond traditional content access to external services—using it to pay for n8n webhook calls to OpenAI for AI chat features. This demonstrates x402's versatility: backend APIs, external webhooks, and autonomous agents all using the same payment protocol. The AI chat feature lets users interact with manga characters, with each 0.01 USDC payment covering n8n hosting + OpenAI API costs.
