Project Description

With CHEDDA’ 🧀 you can borrow cash for whatever. Pay it back, build your credit, and borrow more. While investors get a transparent and efficient track record of their social good. The credit system today is outdated and broken so we decided to take a whole new crypto-based approach to building credit. The traditional finance system is largely stacked against young adults, students, immigrants and the unbanked.

Get a loan through CHEDDA’, pay it back, get access to bigger and better loans and we create alternative metrics to determine your credit worthiness. Traditionally as an investor / donator you have no idea how much goes directly to the cause. Giving back usually incurs high transaction fees (especially internationally), administrative overhead that lack transparency.

With CHEDDA’ you cut out the middle man, immediately seeing your funds go directly to the wallet of the borrower. Borrowers can also update you with pictures and live videos of how your funds are helping in a real and tangible way and you get push notifications to your wallet as these updates happen.

How it's Made

I built it following dev docs and tutorials by Polygon. Deployed to Vercel. Built wireframes and flow on Figma. Prettified it with Tailwind. Used Tatum, STORJ, EPNS, ENS and Livepeer at various stages but had a harder time incorporating it all. The final idea being using virtual accounts with Tatum as most transactions don't have to incur fees, using STORJ for decentralized storage and potentially the static landing "hero" page, EPNS to notify borrowers when their loans have been approved and when they have reached a higher Borrower Tier. EPNS to notify investors if borrowers have updates on how the funds have helped them as well as when funds are paid back. The updates would be uploaded to STORJ and Livepeer would be used for live streaming. ENS was to be used to create easier to remember account names and wallets within the custodial app.
