Onchain chit funds to make traditional Indian group savings transparent, secure, and fraud-free.
First off, the name might sound a bit odd, but it's about making chit funds impossible to cheat. Millions of people in India use these community savings groups. It’s a brilliant system based on trust, but it’s stuck in the past. It runs on paper, handshakes, and a lot of manual work. That means things can get messy—disputes happen, records get lost, and there’s always a risk of someone mismanaging the money.
We looked at this and thought, "We can fix this."
Our solution is simple: we’ve taken the entire process of a chit fund and put it onchain. This means every payment, every bid, and every payout is recorded automatically and transparently. No more "he said, she said." The rules are coded in from the start, and they can't be broken.
But here’s the really cool part. A big problem online is proving who you are without giving away all your private data. We’ve solved this using something called Anon Aadhaar. It’s a clever bit of tech that lets you prove you're a unique Indian citizen over 18 without actually revealing your name, address, or Aadhaar number. You get to be a trusted member of the fund while staying completely anonymous. It's the best of both worlds: trust and privacy.
We’ve already built a huge chunk of this. The smart contracts are done and tested. The website and user dashboard are up and running. People can sign up, create funds, and get verified right now. We're just polishing the final bits to make everything work together seamlessly.
We’re talking about a system that serves over 200 million people and manages billions of dollars annually. By bringing it into the digital age, we're not just making it more efficient; we're opening it up to a younger generation and even Indians living abroad. We'll be the first to do it with this level of privacy and automation.
To keep the lights on, we’ll take a tiny fee (less than 1%) from the transactions. Down the line, we can offer premium tools for people who run larger funds.
Essentially, we’re taking a system built on community trust and giving it a digital upgrade, making it safer, more transparent, and accessible to everyone.
We've used the full stack capabilities of Next.js for the project. All the smart contracts have been written, built and deployed using Solidity and Hardhat. Project was bootstrapped with t3-stack, so it's built with TypeScript and Prisma. For the database, we're using PostgreSQL from Supabase, and for the authentication we're using Supabase Web3 Auth.
Privacy was our utmost priority while building cheat.fund so we've implemented KYC and zero knowledge age proofs using Anon Aadhar.
The platform has an AI layer from the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance. This AI acts as an intelligent guide, simplifying financial concepts and helping users make more informed decisions.
cheat.fund is built on Flow (L1) blockchain.
