Cannabis Genome DAO

Cannabis Genome DAO is a Data DAO that curates cannabis data for research and cultivation.

The Data DAO works with two core users, the data providers and data consumers. Data providers are research labs, cultivators and consumer apps that collect data as part of their work by working with Cannabis Genome DAO they have the opportunity to create an additional revenue stream by selling their datasets via our marketplace.

The marketplace tokenizes and encrypts datasets that can be bought buy data consumers.

A data provider can use our marketplace to create an ERC1155 dataset token that grants access to their dataset.

The marketplace is interoperable which allows the Data DAO to sell dataset tokens on a chain like Ethereum and Polygon, taking advantage of increased liquidity and refined eco-system; whilst storing and maintaining data on Filecoin.

The data marketplace is made up of dataset tokens, encrypted files and access controls.

The dataset tokens:

• are ERC1155 tokens, this allows us to create unlimited amounts of dataset tokens all on one contract and take advantage of the batching features for mult-token purchases and transfers in a transaction, saving users on gas fees.
• the metadata is stored on NFT.storage

We use Lit Protocol to encrypt and control access to the data:

• When a data provider creates a dataset token it returns a token id
• This token id along with the smart contract address can be used to create access conditions when encrypting a file ie. a user needs to have one "White Widow Token" in their account in order to gain access to the "White Widow Dataset"
• The encrypted file is stored on Filecoin
• A data consumer can now mint one or multiple dataset tokens
• When the data consumer attempts to download the dataset Lit Protocol will check their account for the necessary dataset tokens and release a symmetric key
• The symmetric key allows the decryption of the encrypted file retrieved from Filecoin
