Building AstraDeFi was a journey of integrating cutting-edge technologies and innovative design to create a robust and user-friendly decentralized finance platform. Here's a breakdown of the nitty-gritty details behind its development:

AstraDeFi’s frontend is built using Next.js and TypeScript to create a responsive and user-friendly interface. We integrated WalletConnect and Web3Modal for seamless wallet interactions, and GraphQL powers the data querying, ensuring fast and efficient data retrieval across the platform.

On the blockchain side, we utilized Solidity for developing smart contracts, deploying them on Mode and Base testnets to ensure scalability and low transaction costs. Hardhat was used for testing and deploying these contracts, providing a robust development environment.

For real-time data analytics, we deployed subgraphs on Goldsky to track key metrics such as TVL, volume, and event data. This setup ensures that AstraDeFi provides accurate and up-to-date information, empowering users with valuable insights into their investments.

Partnership Integrations: We integrated several technologies from our ETHGlobal partners to enhance AstraDeFi’s capabilities:

Mode was used as the DeFi layer-2 solution, built on the OP Stack, to ensure seamless EVM compatibility and exceptionally low fees. This allowed AstraDeFi to operate efficiently, making it easier for developers and users to interact with the platform while maintaining a high level of performance and scalability.

Base provided the layer-2 scalability solutions, crucial for bringing the benefits of Ethereum to everyone. Base’s integration enabled faster and cheaper transactions, making AstraDeFi more accessible and ensuring a smooth user experience, even during periods of high network activity.
