Covalent is offering:

The prize pool includes a top prize of $1,500 and a minimum prize of $300 to qualifying projects at Covalent’s discretion. 🔑 Best use of Key Pair Apps + Tools — $2500

Lit Programmable Key Pairs (PKPs) are a decentralized distributed custody cloud wallet platform.

PKPs work in tandem with Lit Actions, which are JS functions that instruct the PKP to sign a txn or message to write to a state machine, such as Ethereum or IPFS.

For this prize, we're looking for tooling to be built on PKPs including SDKs for user-owned social networks, such as a token gated chat SDK for read and write, DeFi automation, and other ecosystem tools like explorers.

If you'd like to work on this prize, feel free to reach out to our team for guidance in forming the project idea at any point! PKPs are under active development and new features may roll out during the course of HackFS

🥷 Private Data on the Open Web — $2500

For this bounty, create a novel tool or application that uses Lit to store private data on the open web. Check out this guide for tips on how to implement it. In the past, teams have built products like token gated chat and unlockable NFTs.

To win this prize, the judges will be looking for uniquenesses and general applicability.

Some Hackathon Ideas

Below is a list of project ideas that we think could be great hackathon projects. 

XMTP + Lens - inbox filters

Using Lens Protocol, and the XMTP example chat app (or any messaging front end), create filters for a user’s inbox so they can choose who they want to receive messages from based on Lens filters.

XMTP + Lens - send and receive messages when certain Lens events happen

Using Lens Protocol, and the XMTP example chat app (or any messaging front end), create event listeners that send messages when certain events happen. For example, I would want to receive a message a proposal has been created in a DAO.

E2EE messaging for Gitcoin

Currently, there is no way for bounty owners and bounty workers to chat on Gitcoin. Using the Gitcoin Github repo, and XMTP JS create a chat widget for a Gitcoin bounty page that allows bounty workers to chat with bounty owners. To get an idea of how this could work, take a look at this “Intercom” type widget example.

Chrome Extension Notifications Client

Currently there is no Chrome Extension to notify me when I get a new message on XMTP. Clients like DAOPanel have enabled browser notifications when the tab is open but it would be helpful to be able to get notifications through a Chrome Extension. The user coudl then click on a notification and open a web-app like daopanel.chat for the conversation view.

🏆 Urbit will award an Urbit Star (~4 ETH) to the team with the best project utilizing Urbit.

There are several possible ways to integrate Urbit and IPFS/Filecoin over a hackathon period. 

• The most obvious and desirable integration for Urbit OS at this time is to implement support of S3-style bindings for IPFS/Filecoin to support file hosting for social media applications, most notably Landscape and EScape. 
• An ipfs:// protocol browser could be introduced as a standalone app within Urbit.
• A Slate or Lotus Node interface as an Urbit app would be relatively straightforward. A Filecoin interface (up to and including block storage) would be a good though relatively complex proof-of-concept application (as the Urbit filesystem is still relatively small at 2 GB, a limitation that will be superseded later). 
• Any of these would use Urbit as a database and authentication mechanism to coordinate an IPFS process that a user already has running (locally or in the cloud) or has access to (Filecoin, Slate, etc.).
